There are very few words I can use to describe March, which is precisely why the month that just went by receives a D+ from us at Life Block since the world has been static for the past 31 days. March has been all about Corona Virus (of course), which saw a drastic rise in cases, countries go into a lock down and almost a million cases worldwide. Before we delve deep into all the weird things we've seen happen for the last few weeks, let's show you some stats; as of the 3rd of April there are just over a million cases, around 53,000 deaths and 211,000 recovered cases. These are particularly harrowing figures so before we chat about notable infections, a miserable St. Patrick's Day and how people are having fun, we want to issue a word of warning. Please obey whatever guidelines your government is enforcing, wash your hands after you get back home, stay in your households and don't branch out to see others outside your home. Don't put yourself in unnecessary risk!
So, without further a do. March saw some notable, famous celebrities get infected; Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, wife of the Candian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a few NBA players, the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Boris Johnson, the UK prime minister. However, perhaps the most notable infection was that of Prince Charles. Don't worry he hasn't seen the Queen in a few weeks! Phew.
March did not only see dozens of celebrity infections, it saw a miserable St Patrick's Day. This is probably the first time that the streets of Dublin and the tables of Temple Bar have ever been empty on March 17th!
While Ireland was dwindling in the pits of grief, some youtubers were having fun! American Channel Yes Theory held an online Talent Show, vote for your winner or see what the contestants had to offer using the following link; https://livingroomsgottalent.com/. This is not a brand deal, but your welcome Yes Theory. 50 million subscriber hit channel Dude Perfect staged a five night event where their members competed in events such as 3 vs 3 football, spike-ball and mini-golf. And British channel, The Zac and Jay Show, crashed Zoom meetings and held rooftop parties.
The Corona Virus shut down saw dozens of streamed shows by some of the biggest artists in the world. Some of them include, John Legend who aroused everyone when he finally sang All of Me next to his wife, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Foo Fighter's David Grohl, Imagine Dragons, Bastille and etc.
That's it from us in March. Stay safe, wash your hands and keep sane. Bye now.
